Therefore, intended parents need to be financially prepared before engaging in a surrogacy plan wherever you are planning. There are many variables involved with how much a surrogacy journey will cost. such as the location of the surrogate/intended parents, clinic choice, number of cycles/techniques, and expenses claimed by the surrogate. Our cost breakdown can assist anyone considering surrogacy.

Cost of Surrogacy at the Fertility World in Canada

In Canada surrogacy is more expensive than many couples initially think. Total inclusive cost can fall between about $55,000 up to $85,000 if everything goes well with the first cycle of embryo transfer and the surrogate gets pregnant right away. This inclusive package covers the following process:

  • Surrogacy program service fees,
  • Legal contracts fees,
  • Attorneys’ fees around $20,000
  • In-Vitro Fertilization cost
  • Reimbursements to the surrogate expenses up to $30,000,
  • Medical and psychological screening cost,
  • Fertility World clinic costs,
  • Embryo Implantation cost,
  • The clinical procedure cost $25,000
  • Egg donor expenses from $5000 to $15,000
  • Travel, hotel stay, etc. can be about $5000 to $10,000

The law in Canada does not define the eligible expenses and so, there is no limit, and enforcement of the restriction on expenses has been very loose. However, the Fertility World is transparent in the surrogacy package and has no hidden cost, if the first cycle goes well. Additional embryo transfers are between $3000 – $5000 for each cycle attempt.

Expenses of the Surrogates throughout the process

A contract with the surrogate defines eligible expenses at between $25,000 and up to USD 30,000. If the surrogate is a demanding, experienced surrogate she may ask for extras and travel expenses which can be quite high (e.g. you may have to add on extras for therapy, organic food, wellness, loss of wages, etc.). Medications also may not be included in initial clinic proposals, which can be quite expensive.

Medical costs for the surrogate and the baby are a mixed bag. All the care of the surrogate before and after childbirth is covered by social security. But the care of the baby after the birth is the responsibility of the parents and may require private medical insurance or hefty out-of-pocket expenses. Rates of hospital care for a baby are about $1000/day.

What is the cost of the Donor eggs, at the Fertility World?

Using IVF techniques, an egg or embryo donated by another woman is mixed with your partner’s sperm and implanted into the uterus of the surrogate to carry your child.

The main benefit of using a donor egg is its Guaranteed Success Rate of 100%. Our Egg donors are healthy, you and thoroughly screened by our reproductive endocrinologist and ensure of having high-quality and viable eggs. Whether you are looking for a donor with a high IQ, specific aesthetics, gifts, or talents, our surrogacy program assures you to select the characteristics most important to you.

Since 2004 the egg donation pay has been made illegal for donor eggs in Canada. However, the Fertility World in Canada arranges the best, young, healthy donors from our collaborated donor database outside Canada at reasonable expenses from  $5000 to $15,000.

Cost of Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)

IUI is a type of artificial insemination that is a procedure for treating infertility. In this process, the Sperm that have been washed and concentrated are placed directly in the female uterus around the time of ovulation during the release of one or more eggs to be fertilized. Fertility World offers the cost of IUI at ranges in price from $1,500 and up to $4,000 and is often paired with a $500 for sperm wash and concentration.

Why is IUI done?

Intrauterine insemination is done for the sperm to swim into the fallopian tube and fertilize a waiting egg, resulting in pregnancy. Depending on the reasons for infertility, IUI can be coordinated with your normal cycle or with fertility medications.

Cost of In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) in Canada

In-vitro fertilization (IVF) is a process where an egg is removed from the female ovaries and is fertilized with partner sperm or a donor sperm from the fertility laboratory. The resulting fertilization called embryos is transferred into the female uterus or the surrogate uterus for conceiving a pregnancy. IVF involves a series complex of procedures, for complete In-Vitro Fertilization process visit our website http:fertilityworld. in

At Fertility World in Canada IVF is offered to infertile couples at a reasonable cost starting from $7,000 and up to CAD 11,000. This cost covers the following:

  • Semen analysis starts from $250,
  • Medication cost $200 – $6500
  • And up to $5000 for the IVF.

Before you begin IVF, Fertility World always recommends you to check with your provincial health ministry to see if any costs are covered by Medicare. For example in Ontario, the province will pay for three cycles of IVF (but not the medication cost) for women with bilateral blocked fallopian tubes.

Why is IVF done?

IVF is chosen by many infertile couples when they fail to get pregnant through the natural way of conceiving a pregnancy. IVF treats infertility, after failing with less invasive treatment options that include fertility drugs for the formation of the egg or Intrauterine Insemination (IUI).

Cost of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is the process where a single sperm is injected directly into the egg zona pellucida overcoming all the membrane penetration of the egg and the resulting embryo is transferred into the female uterus or the surrogate uterus and conceive a pregnancy. Fertility World offers ICSI treatment at its lowest budget starting from $8,000 to $15,000 in Canada based upon your health conditions. This cost covers the following:

  • Free Orientation at first and $200 after each orientation,
  • IVF $5000,
  • Fertility Medication $2000-$3000,
  • Freezing embryos cost $700,
  • ICSI itself costs about $1500.

Why is ICSI done?

ICSI is done to treat severe male infertility, when little or no sperm are ejaculated in the semen or when the sperm mobility is weak. Immature sperm collected from the testicles usually can’t move about and are more likely to fertilize an egg through ICSI.

  • ICSI is also used when a couple’s infertility is not related to a problem with sperm.
  • It is also done after repeat in vitro fertilization failure.
  • ICSI is also used for couples who are planning to test the embryo for certain genetic problems.

Cost of Preimplantation genetic test (PGT)

PGT starts with the IVF process, where the egg is fertilized with sperm, in the embryology lab and an embryo is generated. Preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) is used to screen embryos for chromosomal abnormalities before they are implanted into the uterus. This test helps to reduce the odds of a genetic problem in the baby that might otherwise lead to a miscarriage or a failed IVF cycle. It helps to examine an embryo, even before a pregnancy begins

The Fertility World offers an added cost of a PGT cycle starting from $2500 – $5000+ in addition to a standard IVF + ICSI cycle. This includes the embryo biopsy fee, the cost (billed per embryo) of genetic testing which is paid to the genetics company, and the cost of a frozen embryo transfer.

We offer two types of PGT in Canada: They are,

  1. Monogenic or single gene defects (PGT-M): It is used for testing genetic diseases such as Huntington’s disease, Muscular Dystrophy, BRCA breast cancer gene.
  2. Preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A): It is used for testing the missing or extra chromosomes that might lead to a non-viable embryo or extra chromosomes that cause genetic differences like Trisomy 21 – Down Syndrome.

PGT-A is most effective for women between the age of 37 – 38 years old. This is because women are born with all of their eggs, and as they advance in age, the eggs are more prone to making genetic mistakes.

Cost of Egg Freezing in Canada

Many young women are opting to pay the cost to freeze their eggs to have more control over their fertility. Freezing an egg is a personal decision that is influenced by many factors for each individual. Here are some of the most common reasons women freeze their eggs:

  • They want to focus on their career during their best child-bearing years
  • They haven’t met the right partner to start a family with
  • They are undergoing treatment for an illness that may impact their fertility (ie. chemotherapy for cancer) and want to preserve healthy eggs for future use.

Fertility World offers egg extraction and egg freezing starting from $8,000 per year in Canada, then an additional $250 per year to store them. When you’re ready to use them to start a family, expect to spend $5,000 per IVF cycle. Overall, you should expect to spend $18,000 to $25,000 for freezing your eggs and getting pregnant by IVF in Canada at the Fertility World.
