How is IVF treatment performed at Fertility World?
Generally, two possible ways are making the IVF treatments possible:
1. Conventional method and,
2. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)
In both the methods the procedure is the same, the only difference is the sperm penetrating the egg membrane.
- The first step involves ovulation induction: First 1 to 2 weeks is required for ovarian stimulation. You’ll be prescribed fertility drugs to stimulate your ovaries to produce multiple eggs. These drugs (Follicle Stimulating Hormone) tell your body to produce more than just the normal one egg in a month. The more eggs you produce, the more chances you’ll have of successful fertilization.
Based on your conditions, you may also be prescribed other medications such as Medications for ovarian stimulation, Medications for oocyte maturation, Medications to prevent premature ovulation, Medications to prepare the lining of the uterus.
- Next is egg retrieval: After 34 to 36 hours of hormonal injection and before ovulation, the mature egg is retrieved. You’ll be sedated or prescribed pain medication during egg retrieval. Transvaginal ultrasound aspiration or abdominal ultrasound method is used for egg retrieval whereby an ultrasound probe is inserted into your vagina to specify follicles- a thin needle is inserted into an ultrasound guide to go through the vagina and into the follicles to retrieve the eggs. The eggs are detached from the follicles through a needle connected to a suction device. Multiple eggs can be removed in about 20 minutes. Mature eggs are placed in a nutritive liquid (culture medium) and incubated.
- Sperm retrieval: If your partner’s sperm is to be used, he’ll provide a fresh semen sample via masturbation on the morning of egg retrieval. Sometimes testicular aspiration is used for sperm retrieval. You can also use donor sperm. Sperms are separated from the semen fluid in the fertility laboratory.
- Fertilization: In the conventional method, numerous sperms are combined in close vicinity to the egg in the laboratory under the culture media. When any one of the sperm penetrates the outer layer of the egg, fertilization takes place.
Sometimes, the outer membrane of the egg can be too thick or the sperm might not be able to penetrate it. In such a case, the ICSI method is used whereby a micropipette injects the sperm directly into the egg center. It ultimately leads to fertilization. The Fertility World practices both ways to make sure that fertilization occurs safely. Our goal is to provide a safe IVF procedure without any risks to the mother.
Embryo transfer: After 2 to 5 days of egg retrieval embryo implantation is performed. You may be administered with a mild sedative. The doctor will insert a long, thin, flexible tube called a catheter into your vagina, through your cervix, and into your uterus. A syringe containing one or more selected embryos suspended in a small amount of fluid is attached to the end of the catheter.
Using the syringe, the doctor places the embryo or embryos into your uterus. If successful, an embryo will implant in the lining of your uterus about 6 to 10 days after egg retrieval. You can also freeze the embryo or eggs for future use. After the successful embryo implantation inside the lining of the uterus, you can resume normal daily activities. However, your ovaries may still be enlarged. Avoid vigorous activity, which could cause discomfort.
What is the age limit for IVF?
Advance in the age of the women in IVF treatments is the major factor that can affect its success rate. For girls aged less than 35, the success rate is around 55-60%, while for females older than 35, the success rate is generally 40-45%.

Guaranteed IVF with donor eggs
Note: Female age plays a vital role in successful IVF treatment.
If your (female) age is above 35 years and you and your spouse are planning to have a baby through IVF, the guaranteed 100% success rate is promised using Donor eggs. IVF with donor eggs along with your spouse’s semen is a fertility laboratory procedure that involves fertilizing a donor’s eggs with your spouse’s sperm. The fertilized egg becomes a pre-embryo and it is subsequently transferred to a formerly prepared uterus to keep on developing. The process is mentioned above.
Planned pregnancies among 40-year-olds are more common these days. But at age 40 and above girls have decreased fertility potential compared to that observed in younger girls. To get successful results IVF with a donor egg is your option.

- Day 3: The blastocyst attaches deeper into the uterine lining.
- Day 4: Implantation continues.
- Day 5: Implantation is complete. Cells that eventually become the placenta and fetus began to develop.
- Day 6: Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), the hormone that signals a developing pregnancy, starts to enter the bloodstream.
